And this is how our adventure ended: with the tastiest bowl of veggie pho ever, at a cafe on Magazine Street. It may have been my best meal on the whole trip. Sad to say goodbye to NOLA. Grateful for our family’s southern hospitality.

Last morning in NOLA. Cafe au lait and beignets at Cafe du Monde, good way to end a great adventure.

Fulfilled our prime directive today: the muffuletta. I didn’t look too closely, and it was delicious. Perfect with a Barq’s in a glass bottle.

Our first ever absinthe, at Tujacques in the Quarter. We both feel a little funny now, and it is sprinkling outside. Hello, dusky time! What’s next for our dérive??

Just got rained on. For me, this is an ideal vacation situation. More scheduled for later today!!

My stepfather built a shed at his parents’ house and mom and I left our mark in the foundation. While the shed and house and everything else washed away, the foundation remains today.
